I was planning on a project making the lunar module control panels. Where do I start my research?

Two resources you may want to consult: Also, from the Apollo Spacecraft News Reference, NASA has reproduced the Lunar Module Controls and Displays.

If desired, I have several actual LM panels in my collection (3, 5, 8 and 12) which you can reference on this page of my site. Note that these are early variant and closely match LM2/LM3 configuration.

In conjunction with restoration work being performing on one of the panels and with some queuing from John Fongheiser, obtained a Federal Standard Color deck to establish the original paint composition and color. Below images show best match against a LM and CM panel. In my case I found mixing 36231 in combination with 36251 worked best to compensate for aging but 3231 was probably the original color.

Thank you for your help.

What I'm also looking for is a diagram of the dimensions of the panels and a diagram of the switches and breakers that I can read to build a full size replica of the lunar module crew compartment.
