The Space Collective has produced a 1:8 Apollo command module hatch.
This exclusive, engineering-grade model shows an Apollo Command Module Primary Access Hatch in all of its exquisite pre-flight detail.

The Command Module hatch was an incredible feat of engineering prowess, and this model represents that in fine 1:8 scale detail. This model has been expertly designed and built by a team of engineers and model makers using only the finest materials available. The hatch was modeled after the Apollo 11 Command Module primary access hatch.

Limited to 25 pieces at $1250/£999 each:

  • Base made from CNC-turned aluminum with Apollo Program engraving
  • Hatch without the base: 13 x 10 cm (5.1 x 4 in)
  • Hatch including base: 13 x 15 cm (5.1 x 6 in)
  • Comes packaged and protected in elegantly designed metal box
  • Includes a serialized Letter of Authenticity from The Space Collective

Thanks for posting this, Robert. Just so everyone is aware since this is my first model and I want everyone to see the quality first hand, there is an introductory offer that ends on 31st August.

This looks fantastic, and given Richard's well-deserved reputation for excellence I'm sure it will be a great model.

Not cheap, but definitely under consideration.

Do you have a higher resolution picture of the interior detail?

My macro lens is being repaired at the moment so I haven't been able to get the super close shots that show off the finer detail. I should have it back in a week or two, then I'll post them.

Thank you, that means a lot! I didn’t want to make your standard model as there are many great model makers who can do that. I wanted something akin to the engineer models we see from the Apollo-era, and that meant a lot of time spent researching different materials and trying to find the best balance between quality and cost.

The model is expensive, but it has the jewel-like quality you see in the older engineer models that so very rarely come to market.

If these are a success, I will make others.
