From the fine folks at Figures.com comes word (well, pictures) of the latest astronaut figure from Hasbro's line of 12" G.I. Joes.

Due in November as a Toys R Us exclusive (MSRP $24.99) is the "LIFE Space Exploration - Mercury" astronaut, part of the Historical Edition line Joes.

As you can see from the photo below (reprinted with permission from Figures.com), the figure may be a re-release of the 1997 Classic Collection Mercury astronaut.

Also of note is the marketing tie-in with LIFE Magazine...

I just found one of these at TRU about a week ago. It is a nice looking figure!
