We've received a number of artifacts from NASA that we're doing research on before putting them on display at the Southern Colorado Space Museum. No amount of research is yielding any information. Usually the descriptions they give us are pretty vague, e.g. blanket, restraint assy., things like that. Are there any particular websites we might check out or online manuals that might give an idea as to how certain items were used aboard the space shuttle? Photos would be a huge asset as well. |

It is a daunting task as I have had the pleasure of doing the same for the American Space Museum in Titusville, Florida. I do have the added assistance of many space workers who frequent the museum, but to be honest, I find a treasure trove of information on eBay.As I have checked eBay every day for many years I will come across similar items, documentation and photographs all in a single lot with pictures. It is not fast but is is effective. Also the forums here on cS have yielded answers on several items. |

At least I'm not alone with this issue. I might try to ask a few shuttle astronauts about the use of some of these things and see how far that gets me. Thanks for the response. |

As I said you can try and post some items on here, it sometimes gets great results. |
