John Young was the singular focus of my initial space collecting interest, when I acquired his Apollo 16 lunar module COAS (Crewman Optical Alignment Sight). I was working on a new space project when I heard wind of his passing from Chris Hadfield. I scrambled to pull together a writeup on my most cherished John Young artifact, the Apollo 16 cuff checklist he wore on EVA 1. It adorned his arm when he gave the Navy salute and jumped from the lunar surface 3 feet up into space. I just posted it here. |

Outstanding! Thank you for sharing images of your collection, Steve. I got to hold Cernan's EVA3 cuff checklist (owned by an acquaintance of mine), and was half-terrified the entire time that I was going to have a random arm spasm that would make me drop such a precious relic (and be on the hook for God knows what!). Never heard the story about Young sneezing. I love those behind the scenes anecdotes. |

Thank you for posting this. What a fantastic display, I'm jealous. A great tribute to a great man and a great time in human exploration. |

What a superb "memorabilia tribute" to NASA's most all-around experienced astronaut from a highlight space voyage of Captain Young while exploring the lunar surface. Well done, Steve! |
