I'm struggling to find the exact dimensions of Apollo 11 to 13 portable life support system (PLSS) backpacks (-6?). Every dimension I find is different.
I know it is labelled as a Apollo 16 unit, but are those dimensions (diagram found on the internet) also correct for a Apollo 11 PLSS?
I find it suspect there is only less than an inch of difference between the bottom and the top side (9.5 vs. 8.75 - side view). Thanks for help!

My understanding is that the basic hard shell of the PLSS remained the same throughout the landing missions but the extended stay "J " missions Apollo 15 onwards had an additional water tank fitted to the right hand side (looking from the back) of the PLSS. It can be seen in many photos as a rounded bulge.

Thanks for linking to the Hamilton Standard drawing of the PLSS (and thanks to Karl for hosting the image). I absolutely love authentic engineering drawings such as that.
