A couple of years ago I acquired a very rare bird: an Omega Speedmaster MIR. A bit of background:
From July 1993 to July 1994, 35 Omega Speedmaster Professionals were taken to the MIR space station to determine the long term effects of the zero-gravity on watch movements. Seven of them were gold, of which five were fitted with a leather strap and two with the gold bracelet. The remaining 28 were in stainless steel, of which 10 were fitted with a leather strap and 18 with stainless steel bracelet.
All in all, 18 examples of the watch shown were made.

I assume the cosmonauts had to wind all 35 watches every two days or so?

Good question. If the wanted to have them running all the time: yes.

Cool piece. I am surprised by the incorrect spelling and grammar on the certificate. You would think the Omega would get this right.

Good point but English is not their native language so they better use another translator next time.
