For a project, I am trying to locate a verified photograph of the midsection of the Apollo 11 lunar module Eagle and its layout (back wall engine cover and stowage), maybe a closeout photo.I have been looking everywhere that I can think of and the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal Apollo 11 page has this photo. I may be wrong, however I believe this to be a general photo and not actually that of LM-5. I appreciate there are photos from other missions which will be similar but for the sake of accuracy need to see the actual layout and surprised I cannot locate one from Apollo 11. I would be so grateful for any help. Many thanks. |

What specifically are you attempting to track down in the images? There are internal pre-close out snaps but rather then chew up bandwidth pushing shots would prefer to understand what your looking for / and rational. |

Thank you for your kind reply. I am currently building a model of LM-5, during which it surprised me to find that I didn't have the accurate mid section information both for the model and for reference.The Apollo image gallery has closeout pictures for the command module but not lunar module. What I'm looking for are photos similar to the link in my previous post. For example: - The exact layout of the stowage area on the right (looking aft) of the mid section.
- The external appearance of the guidance computer on the back wall (I have found variations in interior photographs of various lunar modules.
- Netting and visible wiring.
It can be difficult explaining what one is looking for and I certainly don't want to take up space on the site but would be grateful for any help on the site or by e-mail. With thanks. | |
