The not-so-secret souvenirs riding historic SpaceX capsule flight to space station

The first U.S. commercial spacecraft to attempt to visit the International Space Station, SpaceX's Dragon, will launch with approximately 1,200 pounds (544 kilograms) of cargo for the orbiting outpost.

The inaugural payload is mostly comprised of food for the station's crew, student experiments, and storage bags, but the capsule's compliment also includes a stash of space souvenirs commemorating the history-making mission.

NASA's cargo manifest for the COTS Demo 2 mission can be found here (PDF).

Not directly; just like the space shuttle OFK items, they aren't sold but awarded. Recipients may later choose to sell.

On board Dragon was a small cache of "souvenirs", assuming patches, pins, covers and the like. Anyone have any idea if/when these may start becoming available? Or am I dreaming?

As earlier noted, these items won't be sold but gifted/presented to NASA and SpaceX team members. If or when they become available to collectors will rely on whether the recipients decide to part with them.

Speaking of Dragon-flown memorabilia, the International Space Station crew left a surprise aboard the returning commercial craft for the SpaceX team...
