I'm looking for a picture of the electrical connector plug, that connects on the dedicated Apollo A7L spacesuit connector. On all the pictures I find, the connector is hidden by the RCU, and I can't get a clear view of it. Thanks! |

Thanks Jeff, but I need a picture of the plug (attached to a cord linked to the PLSS) that connects on top of this suit connector. |

In this National Air and Space Museum picture, you can see the electrical connector laying on the table (next to the end of the multiple water connector umbilical). In this NASM picture, you can see the electrical connector stowed to the PLSS (middle area of the PLSS), and the beta covering for the connector slid back and hanging on the electrical cable at the bottom of the picture. In this NASM picture, you can see a side view of the electrical connector in the lower right corner of the picture. In this picture of Shepard's Apollo 14 training suit, you can see the electrical connector has a molded (white) reinforcing over the end of the cable at the connector. However this is not a flight PLSS since it has the nomex cover instead of the beta cloth cover and has the Hamilton Standard plastic connectors on the gas umbilicals. At this point I am not sure if the reinforced version of the connector was only used for training or if it was also flown. I presume there would be a beta cloth cover over the connector as well. Hope this helps. |
