Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) release
T-shirt designs selected for astronaut Hoshide's ISS expedition

JAXA carried out a design contest for T-shirts that astronaut Akihiko Hoshide will wear during his long duration stay at the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Expedition 32/33 crews beginning in May 2012.

As a result of the contest, which was held between Aug. 24 and Sept. 23, 2011, JAXA received 219 designs. Of them, 12 were selected.

The chosen designs were printed on the front and back sides, as well as on the sleeves, of five T-shirts for Hoshide to wear at the ISS.

JAXA will present each designer of the 12 selected designs with the same T-shirt on which his or her drawing is printed.

All times are CT (US)
