I had a chance to visit a quartz mine in the middle of the Ural mountains in Russia. The mountain was in a very remote area.I was told that this, the very best quality quartz, is and was used as Russian space vehicle fleet window material. I of course took two samples from abandoned material pile on the road. Roads in the mining village were made of waste of this mine. How would you display this kind of samples? Size is 1x1 inch. |

There are a multitude of different shape and style rock and mineral display mounts that you could use, ranging from boxes to caliper stands. There are also shadow box frames, that would allow you display the quartz sample and perhaps a photo or two together.You could buy these, or use them as inspiration to build your own. As for appropriate photos to provide the context for your display, here are a couple:
