Every manned vehicle is jam packed with a giant number of items -- cameras, gloves, food wrappers you name it. Where does it all go when the flight is over?

In the case of Apollo, disposition was initially determined by a CASHUR (Consolidated Apollo Spacecraft Hardware Utilization Request) prepared in advance of liftoff by the Apollo Spacecraft Program Office (ASPO). As issues were identified during the mission and additional requests for flight vehicle components were made, subsequent individual ASHUR's were generated authorizing removal and disposition to support post-flight testing, analysis, reuse and transfer to other organizations.

An example of a CASHUR from S/C 111 (ASTP)

To get an idea of AHSUR's affiliated with testing, review the Mission Reports.

All times are CT (US)
