Francis French mentions that the subject of "Moon Soup" came up during the 2010 Astronaut Autograph and Memorabilia Show at Kennedy Space Center. For those unfamiliar, a brief history...
Chalet Suzanne Soups were selected by NASA and the crew of Apollo 15, thanks to friend and Astronaut James B. Irwin, to be aboard their trip to the moon in 1973 1971. The soups also went into space on Apollo 16 and even the Russians chose these fine soups for their joint dinner meeting in space on Apollo-Soyuz.

Moon Soup Romaine is our signature soup and is served with every meal at the Chalet Suzanne restaurant. By request of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, it can also be found with a special label, Moon Soup.

A Space Pack Trio of Moon Soups is available directly from Chalet Suzanne. Moon Soup can also be ordered from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Chalet Suzanne, is a wonderful little fly in "Chalet" near Lake Wales, Florida. We used to fly there for the weekend all the time, a lovely place. I think I first flew there in 1975.

"Someone" gave me a can of the soup a while back. It sits next to my models, etc.

Likewise, I was given a can of the soup for my collection and I wonder just how long it will take to deteriorate the can from the inside out. I might just have to pick up another can and empty it just so I have one that I can be sure will last.

Open the can on the bottom so the can looks "unused" as it sits on your shelf.

All times are CT (US)
