I had the pleasure of meeting Afghan cosmonaut Momand yesterday and he brought his Koran with him he carried onboard MIR during his spaceflight Soyus TM-6.

He asked me if I can tell him more about the value (not that he's ever interested in selling it, it's a family treasure - one of the few he was able to keep after the spaceflight when he had to flee from Afghanistan in the early 90s).

I'm wondering how many Koran have been carried into space so far? Who was the first one? Sultan Salman al Saud?

All times are CT (US)
