A recent article about aviation medals stolen from The Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington included mention that museum president Dr. Bonnie Dunbar (STS-61A, STS-32, STS-50, STS-71, STS-89) was able to sympathize with the aviator whose honors they were.
Dunbar, a former astronaut, said she can relate to the anguish. Someone stole her NASA medals from her home and they were never returned.
The staff at The Museum of Flight have spread the word among the community to be on the watch for the aviation awards. In a similar spirit, should anyone come across information about Dunbar's medals, I am sure she appreciate any leads that would help result in their return.
