I just spent a week on board USS OHIO (SSGN 726), and I was surprised to find several flown items on display. In the crew's mess there is an authenticated ship's patch (from her SSBN days) flown on board DISCOVERY during STS-95 (COL Glenn's flight). Also on display in the Officer's Study were three small flags (US, US Navy and State of Ohio) flown on Apollo 17 and a small piece of COL Glenn's Atlas booster (recovered on a farm in Zimbabwe) from Friendship 7. Unfortunately, since the use of cameras is frowned upon on nuclear submarines, I could not get any pictures. If there is enough interest, I can contact the sub and see if they can take some pics for us.
