Is there an online source to look up Shuttle-era contract numbers to see what the items were for? I acquired a set of hand valves that have a contract number KSC-C-123E-300A with a date of 10-24-78. Any suggestions where I might look? (I must add that I am slightly embarassed to be asking this question, as a former contracts manager for Boeing on the Space Station Freedom program - but that was before the Internet...) The NAIS iNIPS online query system is the only onlne resource I am aware of that provides publicaally available contract information and it has limited coverage (back to the mid 90's): http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/npms/npms.cgi However your contract number format is not consistant with those typically issued by the NASA Procurement offices - my guess is that its issued by Rockwell or one its sub-contractors as an internal control/contract number. ------------------ Scott Schneeweis URL http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/ [This message has been edited by LT Scott Schneeweis (edited May 26, 2006).] |

Thanks for your offline help, Scott. It appears that these items were, if not misrepresented, then at least not fully described by Aurora in the auction catalog. They are ground support equipment, and the tags attached were not "removal" tags. | |
