I had breakfast with Jacques van Oene this morning. We try to get together each time he comes to town.

Well this morning he asks, "When you had your heart attack, what cheered you up the most?" I responded, "All of the well wishes were wonderful and much appreciated, but the coolest one was the "Get Well Card" from Fyodor Yurchikhin on board the International Space Station that Erik (Hoorenz) emailed me.

Jacques then reaches into his bag and pulls out the piece of paper with Fyodor's message. It was stamped as having been flown on the ISS and signed by nine members of Expeditions 36, 37 and 38. Fyodor, Karen Nyberg, Luca Parmitano, Chris Cassidy, Oleg Kotov, Sergei Ryazansky, Michael Hopkins, Rick Mastracchio and Koichi Wakata.

I cannot thank Erik and Jacques enough for doing this for me . I will treasure this forever.

Erik, Jacques! I'm really shocked by your capacity to operate with Russians and get back things from ISS with Soyuz capsule! Bravo, guys!

And of course Fedor is great!

Fedor indeed is great! And of course, we did get a lot of help from a good Russian friend. He sent the request to Fedor and personally received back the card from him. This Russian guy was so nice to immediately forward it to Jacques, so that he could take it to Florida on this trip.
