Spotted it, researched it, bid on it - BAGGED IT! I must say I'd never heard of an EVA version of the A1C used on Apollo 1, but here it is. At the same time that ILC won the famous 'suit contest' for the lunar EVA suit, David Clark were awarded contracts for the Block I suit used on Apollo 1 (the A1C) and an alternative Block II Apollo lunar EVA suit (the AX-1C).
After the Apollo fire the Block I suit contract was cancelled along with the Block 1 manned missions - but the David Clark contract to make an alternative Block II Apollo lunar EVA suit was continued.
I think I may have found a partial photo of one, but I'll need to see the Schweickart glove in front of me to compare.
Not only is this a nice glove but it means that if I can just find a Stafford, Swigert and Schirra glove I'll have a glove for each Apollo astronaut whose name starts with 'S'!!!!!
If my wife reads this I'm going to get divorced...
Cheers,
Matt
P.S. And if a shrink reads this I'm going to get sectioned...
