NASA opened applications for the NASA Artifacts Program Wednesday (June 7). Schools, universities, libraries and planetariums can apply to receive artifacts for their STEM programs through June 30.Eligible organizations: - NASA internal organizations
- Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (NASM)
- Other Federal Agencies
- Universities registered in the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data
System (IPEDS)
- Schools K-12 registered in the National Center for Education Statistics
(NCES)
- Nonprofit museums, libraries, and planetariums that are eligible to receive
federal property

collectSPACE NASA begins 60th round of space artifact awards for schools, museumsFifteen years after NASA opened its archive of space artifacts to schools and museums, the program still has a lot to give. The space agency recently began accepting applications for its 60th screening of spent equipment, science instruments and small hardware that was flown into space. Approved educational institutions, libraries and planetariums will be able to request artifacts at no cost other than shipping and handling. | |
