Delta7 | LOL! Awesome! I love it. |
teopze | I love the small details |
KSCartist | "Here comes the Sun, doo da doo doo, here comes the Sun and I say - it's alright..." Great poster! |
Rob Joyner | In the Abbey Road poster background I see two heads photo-shopped onto existing bodies. Who are these guys? It's a great poster! My only gripe is that they should have turned the rover around to display a license plate reading "EXP-26" to parody the VW Beetle! |
robsouth | Very good! Am liking the variation on the crossing, the bare-footed Catherine Coleman and the ISS high over Abbey Road. |
ejectr | Take a look at the cap on the pen in Cady's right hand. It's a miniature space shuttle complete with orange tank and two solids. |
buckeyecal | Too bad this wasn't Expedition number nine....number nine...number nine.... |
OV-105 | I like the lunar rover on the street. |
Fezman92 | Very cool. |
chappy | FANTASTIC picture... the best one so far. |

I think that is one of those space shuttle pens you can get at the gift shop. I have one at my desk! |
Sean Collins | The shuttle pen in Cady's hand is mine that I got as a SFA Honoree Award. Notice Cady's blue Toenails to match her suit. She was a really good sport at the photo shoot. Robert Markowitz photographed them individually while I posed them and cut them out and put them together in the poster in Photoshop. I put Robert's head on the guy in the far left background and mine on the guy in the back... It is obvious when you zoom in, I left the heads unblurred so you can tell it is us, but you really can't see it on the poster printed. I took the photo of the rover when it passed my building at JSC... I wanted the rounded front to match the shape of the VW Beetle... |
ejectr | It is noteworthy that in the original Abbey Road photo of the Beatles, McCartney is holding a cigarette in the same hand Cady is holding the pen. With her bare feet and out of step cadence, she is obviously emulating McCartney in the photo, right down to something in her right hand. I don't think McCartney's toenails matched his suit, though. |
KSCartist | As long as we don't speculate on Cady's health. |
Sean Collins | I call it the George Abby Road Poster... |
Jay Chladek | At least it isn't "abby normal" |
Rob Joyner | Oh, boy. Here Comes The Pun(s)... |
KAPTEC | It's a fantastic poster! |
mjanovec | Not to be a killjoy, but I wonder if they cleared the use of Iain Macmillan's original photograph for this poster. Although heavily edited, this is the original photo he shot for the album cover. Most Abbey Road imitation or parody photos I've seen tend not to use the original photo as a backdrop...most likely for legal purposes.(Note: Apple Corps is the copyright holder for the photo.) |
Space Pete | Great poster, I love it! I didn't even notice the ISS in the top-centre of the poster until I read through this thread! |

Apparently Apple Corps was contacted for permission but never responded. As such, the official poster replaces Macmillan's photograph with a similar background shot at Johnson Space Center. The revised poster can now be seen above, where the earlier version had been. |
KSCartist | I can certainly understand copyright. But I cannot imagine that Apple would have had an issue with this use of their image. |
