T O P I C R E V I E WRobert PearlmanWhile in New Orleans to photograph yesterday's ET-120 rollout (see under Space Shuttles - Space Stations) I also took some shots of the Saturn V first stage sitting at the NASA facility's entrance. According to Alan Lawrie (author of the coming "Saturn"), this particular stage includes F1 engines that were originally installed on the Apollo 15 and Apollo 16 boosters for static test firings, as well as the very last F1 engine to roll off the assembly line. R.GlueckI believe Michoud also has a second stage sitting out back, unprotected.Robert PearlmanThis image, a segment of a larger photo posted by NASA from August 30, shows the first post-Katrina look at S-IC-15. Based on my recollection and photos above, it appears to be in the same position and orientation as it was before, though its too distant in this image to discern details.
