T O P I C R E V I E Wheng44The images of the EVAs on Shuttle mission STS-41B in February 1984 mostly feature Bruce McCandless flying the Manned Maneuvering Unit. Almost forgotten is the fact that Bob Stewart also flew the MMU about 100 meters away from Challenger, which also resulted in some spectacular images. So here is a view of Stewart during EVA-1 on the way back to the relative safety of the Challenger's payload bay.HeadshotNice shot.Didn't Stewart refer to himself as the smallest manned spacecraft ever because of his diminutive size compared to McCandless? Of course both were smaller size and mass-wise than a Mercury space capsule too.Lou ChinalOkay, I'll bite.
