[b]Kennedy Space Center Honors Neil Armstrong Friday[/b] Kennedy Space Center will hold a ceremony to honor former test pilot and NASA astronaut Neil Armstrong at 1 p.m. EDT, Friday, Aug. 31, at the Apollo/Saturn V Center. Kennedy Space Center Director Bob Cabana will lead the ceremony.
[b]Friday, August 31: Remembering Neil Armstrong[/b] Please join us at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at 9 a.m. as we remember American astronaut, Neil Armstrong. We will gather in Apollo Courtyard around the Saturn V moon rocket to honor Mr. Armstrong’s legacy and celebrate his accomplished life and monumental contributions to space exploration. Following a brief ceremony, visitors will be invited to participate in the release of red, white and blue balloons around the Saturn V rocket in memory of Armstrong. There is no charge for this event and the public is invited to attend.
