| capoetc | When: Saturday, December 8th starting around 12:45 pm Where: Fox Brothers' BBQ in Atlanta ... directions are available on the site. Who: Interested cS members in the Atlanta area. Feel free to bring along some cool stuff for show and tell or extras if you want to trade. **Please leave a message on this thread if you would like to attend so I will know if I need to arrive early and reserve extra tables.** |
| garymilgrom | I'll be there. Thanks for organizing this. |
| Gilbert | I plan to be there. |
| Joel Katzowitz | I'll be there. I haven't been to Fox Brothers since that big tree took out most of the dining area a few months ago. I think it's the best BBQ joint in Atlanta. |
| James Brown | Count me in. |
| fredtrav | Depending on my fathers situation, I will try and be there. |
| Gilbert | Every time I've been to Fox Brothers an odd thing happens. Three geeks with nothing but space on their minds sit at my table. On a positive note one of the geeks did pay for my meal once. |
| fredtrav | So it is your turn to buy lunch? |
| capoetc | Note that the time for the meet up has changed from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. I changed the time in the original post above as well. |
| GACspaceguy | Looks like I will be able to join the southern space contingent. |
| fredtrav | From one Fred to another, see you there. |
| capoetc | I'll call today to check on reservations -- if they don't do reservations, I'll just get there a little early to grab a couple tables. Looks like we have 6-8 coming. See y'all there! |
| Grounded! | Please post food pictures! |
| Joel Katzowitz | The food will definitely be prettier than the attendees. |
| Gilbert | While maybe not glamorous, it sure was fun. |
| fredtrav | It was great to get together with everyone, and I found out they served brontosaurus (at least that was what the rib looked like it came from). |
| Joel Katzowitz | It was terrific spending some time with old friends and getting to make a new one. Thanks all. |
| GACspaceguy | Was well worth the drive, a great afternoon of coversations. Thanks for the invite folks! |
| capoetc | It was good to finally meet you guys. Right after everyone else had left, I said, "Shoot, we forgot to take a picture!". Oh, well ... next time. Thanks again to Fred for the goodies. |

My pleasure, as we talked about, Jackie and I took the opportunity, in that we only 10 minutes away, to visit the Apollo 6 CM. I will post pictures of that as soon as I can. |

Here are a couple of photos of Apollo 6 that we took after our lunch visit. The good news is they have the hatch covered again so it is no longer an invitation to use it as a basketball hoop. The display is unchanged but it is still cool that we have an example of a Block I flown CM here in Georgia.

| crash | Fred, I've been meaning to pop along and see Apollo 6 but the late opening time of the Center has usually put me off (I only get 24 hrs in Atlanta usually). However, seeing your photo has strengthened my resolve and I may make it an early New Year visit. |
| GACspaceguy | It is well worth the visit. Does this mean we have to make it a point to see Apollo X next year? It is the only one we have not see at this point. |
