| MattJL | I finally re-discovered the Apollo 12 pamphlet (or miniature magazine, I'm not sure of how to classify it) "A New Vista for Lunar Sciences" when I was cleaning out my bookshelf. It looks to be a period artifact, as Apollo 13 is mentioned in future tense (and the price is given as 65 cents). The cover has a color photograph of either Conrad or Bean skipping away from Intrepid towards the photographer. Can anyone tell me about the origins of this pamphlet, or if similar ones were released for Apollo missions 11 and 13 through 17? |

| MattJL | Thanks. I may eventually have to go and complete the set now. |
| LM-12 | The booklets were produced by the Office of Public Affairs at NASA. I think EP stands for Educational Publication. |
| Blackarrow | There's one booklet missing from the above list: "Log of Apollo 11" (EP-72). I would suggest that it's the "real" Apollo 11 publication out of this list. EP-73 is a departure from the format of the other Apollo booklets. It's an illustrated transcript of the post-mission press conference (which I remember watching live by satellite on our neighbours' colour TV while they were on holiday.) Both are excellent, in fact the whole set is a wonderful evocation of the glory days of Apollo. The Apollo 8 booklet is arguably the best and most detailed. |
| LM-12 | There is also a large booklet simply called "Apollo" (EP-100). On the cover is an Apollo 17 photo of Gene Cernan holding the flag with the Earth in the background. Did anybody get a booklet autographed? |
| onesmallstep | I can remember, in those pre-internet (and cS) days, eagerly awaiting the publication of all of those booklets from NASA. You did get a lot of information from newspapers and magazines during the flights, but it was still impressive to see the full color pictures printed along with a report of the mission. |
| LM-12 | In EP-76, there is a nice photo of the Apollo 13 astronauts leaving the crew transfer van at Pad 39A on launch day. I do not recall seeing that photo anywhere else. There is no photo number. |
| J.L | That would be image 70PC-96 |
| LM-12 | Excellent - thanks for posting! |
