The astronaut representative is our friend, Tim Kopra, who flew on the space shuttle Endeavour during STS-127 and who was originally assigned to STS-133. Tim was familiar with our work and asked us to create this insignia. VITO's job is to track vehicle development and operational issues for the crew to ensure maximum efficiency and safety. With the end of the shuttle program they wanted an updated emblem.
