[i]Much has been made of the need to fix a malfunctioning toilet aboard the International Space Station. Toilets are, of course, comedy gold. And space toilets? More golden still. So news organizations have had a great deal of fun at NASA’s expense lately.
Many of the jokes were predictable: Headlines like “Space station incommoded by broken toilet” and “Houston, we have a potty problem” and, regrettably, “No. 1 problem on space station: Broken toilet leaves crew with almost nowhere to go.”
Some of the humor was more inventive. On the space enthusiast site Collectspace.com, a member of the ongoing discussion of mission patches and pins posted a reworked version of the official mission patch.[/i]
