| Moonbase_Alphan | Here is the just released 124 patch. Again, as the other recent missions, quite a striking design. |
| NavySpaceFan | Very nice, I wonder what the Japanese characters on the bottom patch mean. |
| Robert Pearlman | I believe it reads "Kibo", the Japanese Experiment Module. |
| KSCartist | Great looking patch! I wish I'd done it. Tim |
| buckeyecal | Yeah, me too!!!! Great work out there!!! Daniel |
| Marwin2 | Note same Japan word on left side of astronauts group photo! |
| pargoo | Link to hi-res version on NASA's website: quote: The STS-124/1J patch depicts the Space Shuttle Discovery docked with the International Space Station (ISS). STS-124/1J is dedicated to delivering and installing the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) known as Kibo (Hope) to the ISS. The significance of the mission and the Japanese contribution to the ISS is recognized by the Japanese flag depicted on the JEM Pressurized Module (JPM) and the word Kibo written in Japanese at the bottom of the patch. The view of the sun shining down upon the Earth represents the increased "hope" that the entire world will benefit from the JEM's scientific discoveries.

I orderer it (besides the pin) to starflight-creations on May 05 through eBay.Jorge. |
| aerospace educator | I ordered the patch through AB Emblems and received it this past Saturday. |
| Robert Pearlman | quote: Originally posted by Marwin2: Who is the STS-124 patch designer?
The crew worked together with NASA artists to design the patch, but Ron Garan was the lead for the project. |
| Harald Kraenzel | I received the STS-124 patches from starflight-creations and from AB Emblem and discovered slightly differences: - the one that I received from starflight-creations is more thick and has a different white borderI will try to ask both concerning these differences. I assume that it is the same as it was for some other patches that they are are from different runs. Harald
