T O P I C R E V I E WthemadvikingGreetings, everyone! I just received an unexpected package from Willabee & Ward. It contained two "NASA Collectable Emblems" (not ordered) plus an invoice for $28.50 (not wanted). Now, I know that I don't have to pay for unsolicited merchandise, but I'm wondering... has anyone here ever heard of these guys? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.mikelarsonThey are owned by the same folks that run Easton Press and (I think) the Danbury Mint. They specialize in collectible patches and frequently issue replicas of Apollo and STS patches. Give them a call and I'm sure they will straighten everything out.themadvikingMike, thanks so much for the reply. Now that I think of it, I had an account with Danbury Mint for my wife (Boston Terrier stuff). Makes sense how I got on a list. Again, I appreciate the feedback.KSCartistRick, good company but a bit slow in the customer service department. I signed up for their Super Bowl emblems (giving friends and relatives patches for the years their favorite teams have won). But after 12 months I still haven't received all of my NE Patriots Super Bowl patches.I received the same space patch stuff that you did, but I'm not convinced that they'll do every mission. Besides I've been collecting those for years and don't need W&W.John K. RochesterPlus, I wasn't all that impressed with the quality of the Willabee-Ward patches.(No... they will not do every mission.)Robert PearlmanMy understanding was that the patches were sourced from AB Emblem and that W&W did not produce their own patches for their sets. Am I mistaken?John K. RochesterThat may be, Robert. I purchased the patch set and subsequent "binder" about 10 years ago. Maybe they are using a different company, but found some of mine to be lopsided, miscolored, and with the "embroidery string" hanging. Also, some of the photos that the patch set were attached to describing the missions were inaccurate to the mission described.Hopefully, it's better now...themadvikingI will echo the sentiments that the patches are not of the best quality and, in this case anyway, appear a tad overpriced. There's always that "caveat emptor" thing isn't there?chomper quote:Originally posted by John K. Someone has some of W&W's space mission patches for sale rather inexpensive on eBay. Does anyone know if these information cards are relatively accurate and would be good resource for a classroom? Many thanks in advance.LiemboThese W&W single page patch auctions are cluttering up my saved searches, I tell you what.LiemboDoes anyone have a scan or decent photo of a W&W "Apollo 1" patch?
