Legos back then were really basic shapes. When their 487 Space Cruiser came out I had to have it. It had angled flat plates for wings and a sloped clear yellow part for the canopy. It also had specialized parts like a nice Quad thruster part, except it only had three nozzles.It was also when the first minifigs were done, before that figures had separate large round heads.I made a layout using the '75 to '80 sets in a 2x4 base plate layout, then put a clear glass top above it to make a goffee table. Cats loved that one so I moved it to the top of a large TV shelf combo that the layout fit on top perfectly.I've downloaded the Lego Designer program and it lets you build your own model using most of their parts. Once it's finished you can send it to Lego and they will give you a cost for all the parts! They even offer a custom box with box art, pretty cool.If you'd like something built or are looking for a vintage model, let me know.
