| MrSpace86 | Anyone else order a flag? I find it amazing that flown Gemini flags are offered like this. I was always under the impression that these country and state kits were just for Apollo, not Gemini! |
| fredtrav | I did order a flag. Cambodia, as it a nice looking flag. I wish he had had Bhutan though. I have seen flags from other countries and other missions offered. On eBay there is a Gemini 10 flag from John Young. It was bought at an auction and he is trying to resell it(at a hefty increase). |
| rjurek349 | I ordered several flags, from both the Gemini 4 and Apollo 9 missions. It's too good of a price deal to pass up. Thanks to Kim/Sally and Jim McDivitt for making these available at collector-friendly prices! Get 'em before they are gone, folks... |
| Larry McGlynn | I, too, pickup a large US flag from McDivitt. Kim and Sally had him certify it both on the flag and via a COA. They also had sent extremely quickly. Great job and thanks to Kim, Sally and Novaspace staff. |
| Robert Pearlman | A question was raised off-forum if the Gemini 4 flags represent the first flight in space for some or most of the international nations. McDivitt doesn't know. It's an interesting question — anyone know of any earlier examples? |
| spaced out | This is certainly the first full flag kit to have been seen from any Mercury or Gemini mission. You have to wonder if other astronauts also carried full kits. What about Ed White for example? But so far I don't remember seeing any foreign flags from the White estate so there's no indication that he copied McDivitt in this respect. I'm only aware of a few individual foreign flags being sold from earlier missions, or indeed from any other Gemini flight to this point. Although the sheer volume of flags being released in one go may overwhelm the collecting community at this point this is definitely an opportunity not to be missed and the prices are unbeatable. |
| davidcwagner | Got the Dominican Republic flag because of the red, white and blue colors. I have a great Ed Hengeveld Gemini spacewalk painting to frame with it along with the Novaspace Gemini 4 patch. |
| MrSpace86 | I just received my flag and here is what I have to say about it: - Novaspace is amazing. The packaging of the item is absolutely bulletproof and insane. Worth every penny in shipping
- The flag itself and the COA are top notch. Very well done and awesome
- The speed and friendliness of the customer service is unparallelled. Amazing stuff going on there
I am very happy to a) finally own a flag flown on Gemini and b) to have a flown flag of my birth country in my collection. Thank you Jim McDivitt and Novaspace for such a wonderful opportunity!! (I will post pics soon of how I put it together). |
| MrSpace86 | And here is a pic: What do you guys think? If anyone else would like to post their flags, it would be welcomed! |
| LateApex | That looks fabulous. Did you have that framed yourself, or did Novaspace do it for you? My GT-4 Trinidad & Tobago flag shipped yesterday. Can't wait to get it. Working on ways to display it. Currently, the flag is "solo" as I consider adding another GT-4 item to frame/display with it. |
| MrSpace86 | I did it myself. I just went and found acid free matting and had it cut at the store and then framed it myself and used UV glass. I am glad you like it |
| spacehiker | One has already found its way onto eBay at a healthy mark up. |
| spaced out | These flags were priced to sell rather than to be listed over a long period at a high price with few takers. An inevitable side effect of these low prices is bound to be some profiteering and I'm sure this won't be the last example. There are bound to be some turning up in future space auctions. Hopefully though, the majority of these amazing flags will have become treasured parts of collections. |
| capoetc | And the seller is a cS member too... not that it matters, nothing illegal about selling these flags. Just seems... unsavory. To me. |

Agreed that it is in poor taste. |
| capoetc | Note: The following is presented mostly in jest, lest I should unknowingly offend anyone by suggesting that NASA would have flown a Confederate flag, in case anyone should be so inclined to be offended. Well, I now own a Gemini-flown Confederate flag! It just happens to be the flag of the country of Somalia, but... this looks EXACTLY like the first (unofficial) flag of the Confederate States of America, circa 1961 — the Bonnie Blue flag! This was the flag that flew over the artillery batteries of P.T.G. Beauregard at Fort Sumter. Hurrah! Hurrah! For Southern rights, hurrah! Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star. Pretty cool, huh? Of course, it also looks just like the flag of the Republic of West Florida, circa 1810... |

Unfortunately, this US flag sold for $2000. The seller now has California and North Carolina flags listed for $1400 each. |
| Spacefest | This "Cinderella sale" will have those kind of prices on remaining flags, when it turns back into a pumpkin Nov. 30.
