Budweiser's space-bound barley seeds to advance first 'Bud on Mars'

Budweiser is sending barley seeds to the International Space Station to advance its bid to be the first beer on Mars.

Anheuser-Busch, the brewing company behind the "Great American Lager," announced on Tuesday (Nov. 21) details about its experiments bound for Earth orbit. Twenty barley seeds will launch on board SpaceX's next Dragon resupply mission to the space station, where they will be subjected to microgravity for 30 days and tested for germination.

Reaching Mars is the ultimate dream for mankind. And we're up for the journey. That’s why Budweiser's on a mission to become the first beer on Mars.
GlintOne more reason to remain on Earth, where there are so many great beers.
JonnyedBack in college, my buddies and I all used to be able to cite from memory the text from the Budweiser label. You know: "This is the famous Budweiser beer. We know of no brand produced by any other brewer which costs so much to brew and age... etc., etc." The label also had these continents on it: America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia.

Now they will have to add "Mars" to the list (before they could list Antarctica)!

And given the circumstances of the Mars trip, I guess they can still keep bragging about how it costs so much to brew!
