p51That is so cool they still use Elmo as a sort of mascot at NASA. I'd assumed that the scandal surrounding Kevin Clash would remove Elmo as a character from anything to do with NASA. It's good to see that isn't the case!

Scandal or not, Clash could think fast as the voice of the puppet and was downright hilarious in interviews. Seriously, look up Elmo interviews on mainstream shows on YouTube, they can be downright side-splitting funny.

The new person, Ryan Dillon per wikipedia, just doesn't do as good a job as Clash did.

And as an FYI, I'm way too old to have grown up with Elmo, that character became big by the time I was in my teens, if memory serves.

Robert PearlmanYesterday's (Nov. 25) and today's countdown:
9 days to go before NASA's Orion launch! Did you know that there are 970 tiles to protect its shell from high temps?

8 more days! Today we learned that NASA Orion's launch abort system has 3 special motors. Do you know their names?

p51The Count: ONE, One capsule going up! Ah ha ha ha ha... (cue sound of thunder).
Robert PearlmanThursday's (Nov. 27) countdown:
Today's video is brought to you by the letter "O" as in Orion!

Today's (Nov. 28) countdown:

Super Grover is so excited! Only 6 more days until NASA's Orion #JourneytoMars! #UpUpandAway
Robert PearlmanNov. 29 countdown:
In 5 days Orion's first flight is first step in #JourneyToMars, home of the Sesame Street Yip Yips

Nov. 30 countdown:

Four days until NASA's Orion test flight! Check out Elmo, Abby and Cookie signing Sesame Street's #ImOnBoard banner!
Robert PearlmanDec. 1 countdown:
We'd suggest hiding NASA Orion's heat shield from Cookie Monster on Thursday...

Dec. 2 countdown:

We're 2 days away from NASA Orion's first flight and we have a Sesame Street exclusive: Slimey will be on board!
Robert PearlmanNASA astronaut Ricky Arnold returned the items flown on Orion EFT-1 to Sesame Street this week:
Why is @Astro_Ricky in #NewYorkCity? We can't wait to find out.
Slimey flew on @NASA_Orion. Eartha, Dusty, and Sloppy welcome him home!
@MeCookieMonster likes cookies straight from the oven! They look like @NASA_Orion's heat shield, but not as hot.
Rubber Duckie also flew in space on @NASA_Orion! Ernie always picks Rubber Duckie up after a bath.
Robert Pearlman
Grover's cape protects him and gives him super powers. More so now that it has been to space on @NASA_Orion!

RonpurI really hope Cookie Monster did not eat that cookie!
Robert PearlmanThis video should answer that concern...

RonpurWell, that is a relief! LOL
