T O P I C R E V I E WFFrenchThe whole site is worth browsing for some wonderfully retro sci-fi designs, but in particular I can't imagine anyone here who wouldn't qualify for this Space Cadet T-shirt!Robert PearlmanAlong the same spirit, this t-shirt speaks to my inner (and outer) space collector.Robert PearlmanSpace Is The Place t-shirt from Imaginary Foundation [via Boing Boing]Robert PearlmanNot really a T-shirt, but this Saturn V jersey from ElevenGear is perfect for the space cadet that also enjoys biking. In a style evocative of the grand rocket itself. When it's time to make use of the term "light it up," throw this jersey on. We've got two zipper styles; a 3/4 length hidden zipper and a full-zip jersey. Both have three roomy pockets on the back for your mylar jacket, Tang and space food sticks. Made of Aries Micro Plus sublimated fabric, Designed and Manufactured in California. Ships with a mess of Saturn V temporary tattoos (which were made in Arizona since you were wondering).Robert PearlmanThinkGeek's Rats! Space Shuttle Program T-Shirt: Geeks love the Space Shuttle Program. After all, it was a huge write-in campaign by Star Trek fans that got the first orbiter named Enterprise instead of its intended name, Constitution. We'll admit it. We're gonna miss it. But... but...For one generation, the question was "Where were you when Kennedy was shot?" All our customers remember the moment they found out about 9/11. But for a 10-15 year window of Americans in their 30s and 40s, the defining tragedy of our generation was the Challenger disaster. We know exactly what we were doing when we heard about it. We weren't around (or aware enough) to have been shaped by the moon landing or Apollo 13, and Hubble's combination of unmanned-ness plus its rocky start got it mentally written off. For this group of people, the Space Shuttle is synonymous with the U.S. space program. So the retirement of NASA's Space Shuttle Program is bittersweet for us. Okay. Honestly? There's nothing sweet about it. It's just bitter. If you're in the room with us when we watch the final launch, that's totally allergies. Or dust. Or um... eye spouts. It's a meteorological phenomenon.music_space quote:... this Saturn V jersey from ElevenGear I'm afraid that the female model of this jersey throws the ol' Saturn V aerodynamics out the window... music_spaceFrom Eleven Gear's ad for its Saturn V jersey and bib shorts:Please note that riders wearing Saturn V products should do so with caution on their first few rides, specially on short steep climbs, onramps and the like as we have had a few reports of riders indadvertantly achieving escape velocity and inserting themselves into low earth orbit. That honor was cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's on April 12, 1961. He and the Vostok 1 spent a total of 108 minutes lifting off, making a single orbit of the Earth, and coming back down safely. Ground control wasn't sure until 25 minutes in whether the ship was in stable orbit, and much of the journey Gagarin was out of communication with the various ground stations.
