T O P I C R E V I E WspaceukLater tonight (wed 22/6/05) we should see the Moon visually appear much much larger than it usually does from just after 1045pm onward . Times will vary across the UK.Look south to south west. If its a clear night you should not really miss it - its that big probably reddish tinged orb we call The Moon !PhillUKspaceukSorry - its south to south EASTPPspaceukThe reason is an 'optical illusion' caused by it appearing fairly close to the viewers horizon and the atmosphere causing magnification .PPPhilipIt was a great site ... on Belgian CoastlineAlso noticed some High-altitude clouds lighted by the Sunlight... http://mars-literature.skynetblogs.be/ spaceukUnfortunately didn't get see it since too low on horizon from my vantage :-(Pleased you had a good view Philip - bravo !PhillUKicarkieI manage to see the moon rise last night,it looked great it was just as big setting top the west in the early hours of the morning when I started work.On the solar side of thing I was going to make a trip up to Leek in Staffordshire on the 21st to see if it was possible to see the double sunset,Have you ever seen it Phill I know Leek is up your neck of the woods in Staffs.I coudn't go in the end as the car was playing up ( maybe next year ) all the bestIan
