T O P I C R E V I E WRobert PearlmanIn response to the discussion started here: http://collectspace.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000853.html Ken Winans, founder of The W Foundation replied: quote: I founded The W Foundation late last year as a 501c3 non-profit organization for two reasons: 1. The space exhibits in California museums are serious lacking, and our primary role is to arrange for the borrowing, renting or buying of artifacts from collectors primarily for display in the Chabot Space & Science Center www.cosc.org. The first items to be displayed are: a Lunar Module ascent-stage engine bell & a Soviet pressure suit. The displays are currently being assembled and should be completed within 30 days. Chabot's goal is to have the best space exploration display on the west coast. Our goal is make sure this happens. If any collectors are interested in helping, please have them contact me or Mike Reynolds at Chabot. 2. For estate and tax reasons. I do not want my extensive collection to be sold off by my heirs when I'm travelling the universe in spirit. I have donated my collection to the foundation and have realized a nice tax deduction. If anybody is interested in setting up a similar situation have them email me.I'd like to get other collectors involved. We have 9,000 sq.ft of space in the Space Exploration Hall that needs to be filled with great items. I'll keep you posted on our developments, and we will have a website within 60 days.Ken can be reached via e-mail at: ken@winansintl.comrjurek349And when you're at it, check out the lunar lander simulator game at the Chabot Space & Science Center. Loads of fun. The 100 point slot under lunar gravity is tough -- but practically impossible under Jupiter gravity.Give it a spin: http://www.cosc.org./vsc/exhibits/lunarlander/lunarlander.asp Rich RizzLooks similar to this one. http://www.explorespace.com/potluck/lander/index.htm rjurek349Yeah -- look like both site's use John Donohue's applet. Nonetheless, it still is fun. Anyone else have any other sightings of this one? Rich lunarrv15I wish the screen for the lander was wider and able to view the bottom.
