T O P I C R E V I E WNigel McWhat does everyone think about someone getting a signed book, then cutting out the signature and mounting it?Is this common? What do you think?GACspaceguyIn my opinion, it is your book; do with it as you please. On the other hand if you are riding the fence in what to do, I would suggest that if it is a rare book, leave it alone. If it is a more modern book carefully remove the signed page and obtain your signature as you wish, then donate the book to your local school for their library.fredtravWhile I hate to see a book cut up. it is your decision. I do agree with GAC that if it is a rare book, do not cut it. An autographed copy of Carrying the Fire for example should not be cut for the signature. The signature on some more common books can be taken and made into a nice display. Sometimes these are worth more than the book. I have seen cut signatures sell for more than a signed book. James Irwin is a good example.
