Section One: Astronaut Experiences
Lot 003: U.S. Space & Rocket Center Tour with Astronaut Owen Garriott & Parent-Child Space Camp Weekend

You and a guest will tour the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama with astronaut Owen Garriott.
As one of NASA's first scientist-astronauts, Garriott flew on the United States' first space station, Skylab setting a world duration record in the process. Later, he flew aboard the Space Shuttle with the first Spacelab, a precursor to the laboratory on the International Space Station. After he left NASA, he continued his work with Spacelab as part of Teledyne Brown's division at Marshall Space Flight Center.
On your tour, you will see the only vertical-standing model of the Saturn V rocket that launched Skylab, as well as the trainer Garriott used to prepare for his mission. You'll also see a full scale model of the Space Shuttle and a diverse collection of space program artifacts.
Your tour will also include a weekend Parent-Child Space Camp experience, courtesy of Space Camp. Your Space Camp weekend may be scheduled separately from the tour date with Garriott; he will not attend Space Camp with the winning bidder.
A bound, photo-album of your tour will be shipped to you within a few weeks of your tour ending.
Winning bid: $900
As of September 4, 2004, 9:30pm PDT
This auction does not include transportation to or from, or accommodations near the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. The actual date of the event, not to exceed one year after the close of the auction, will be determined by Owen Garriott's availability. ASF reserves the right to disqualify the high bidder, to reject the high bid, and to accept a bid from a lower bidder, for any reason within their discretion, which shall be exercised in good faith. The winning bidder of this event will be required to submit proof of identity and may be subject to a background check.
